Collegium Seminars

We are excited to continue to leverage the Collegium Seminars as a space where the teaching and learning of leadership can be made more explicit in the classroom. We will continue with leadership as a core theme of the Collegium Seminar program. 

Due to the current climate, we are pausing the Collegium Seminar program for the 2023-2024 academic year.  If you have additional questions please email ljwiles@uw.edu.  

Below are some ideas on how to make leadership more explicit in your current Collegium Seminar:

• Make the concept of leadership from your discipline a core theme of your Collegium Seminar proposal. 
• Devote one class session to discussing the practice of leadership from your discipline’s perspective.
• Invite a guest speaker to talk about ‘lessons learned about leadership’ from their field of work.
• In your course syllabus, highlight how students will be developing any of the above leadership competencies and tenets through the course curriculum. 
• Ask students to write a reflection paper articulating how they have developed specific leadership competencies or how their thinking has shifted around one of the leadership tenets as a result of what they learned in the Collegium Seminar.

Teaching Times and Quarterly Discussions 

• View your teaching time and location. 
• Attend a discussion workshop to discuss how the quarter is going, connect with faculty teaching a collegium seminar, and answer any lingering questions. Workshop times vary based on faculty schedules.
